MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

There are many reasons why tourism in Serbia can be considered an activity with distinct chances for propulsive growth in the future, especially based on the number and quality of resources. It is also undoubted that within such a development, natural resources should determine the possibilities for achieving economic and other goals in tourism, and not the other way around. 

If we want Serbia's tourism to achieve results in accordance with the total available resources, the development of tourism must achieve harmony with the overall environment, in a responsible and sustainable manner. Also, we must strive to fit into the current world trends in the field of tourism development and to harmonize or apply the experiences and rules, especially of the countries of the European Union. These were the main reasons that in 2001 several experts and enthusiasts from various fields gathered around this basic idea and created the Center for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Development - CenORT.
